Peek Inside Lucy's Closet!
You've probably seen Jaime Castle and her daughter, Lucy, on the website before because I love the clothes Jaime makes for Lucy by repurposing just about anything - adult-size shirts, sweaters, etc. Jaime just brought in her latest collection and I asked if she would do a demo at Stitch before Lucy's baby brother arrives May 17th. Jaime is proof that fearless sewing is the only thing needed to create adorable baby clothes without running to the fabric store for inspiration. Bring in any piece of clothing that you think can be refashioned for your baby or toddler and we will get you going!

This is Lucy in one of Jaime's sweaters! See more of Jaime's creations on the News Page!

Special Event! Kitchen Frocks and Crock-pot Lunch!
Stitch is teaming up with Sally Godschalk and Terri Morgan to provide a fun day of sewing and feasting! We will spend the morning making aprons by repurposing skirts, pillowcases, kitchen towels, etc. My costuming friend, Sally Godschalk made some wonderfully cute and clever aprons for her Cookie Exchange group and has agreed to share her creativity. Another friend, Terri Morgan, is a wonderful cook and she will prepare a delicious lunch using one of her favorite crock pot recipes (....think alfredo chicken plus glazed pecan salad, sauteed green beans.... !) Reservations are limited so please respond quickly. I am so excited about this event! (See some of Sally's creations on the News Page)

Roman Shades
I think we are all a little intimidated by how to make roman shades! Kristy Kleiman will lead us through the process. She is a fabulous streamstress and has had her own workroom for designing and constructing window treatments - she has great ideas and loads of experience! You will make mini-samples to help understand the measuring and construction of the shades so that you can then apply that to making shades to fit your windows at home.

Lullaby Quilters
Come help us continue this outreach for the babies of The NICU at Good Samaritan Hospital! Following our last donation, we received a thank you note from the one of the nurses who heads up this wonderful project and she wrote, "Our mission is to provide over 700 quilts to the unit each year. Many of your quilts are already covering the isolettes of our smallest preemies. We also cover the babies while their moms do "Kangaroo Care" with their precious little ones." Absolutely no prior sewing skill is needed! Just come and we will lead you through the process and have a great day of giving!
